SCADA Function (Trending, Report Generation)
PAnORaMA itself can provide performance data storage, compression, archiving functions. It can also generate standard reports and reduce burden on the operators to create the same manually.
The simulator creates performance (flow rate, pressure) data at all nodes of a network for intervals as small as seconds or minutes. While this live data is important for operators in the control room, it will be very taxing to store all past data. Therefore, data is compressed by averaging. For example, one could decide to have data for current date with the granularity of seconds/minutes. The data for the previous days of the current week could be averaged and stored on an hourly basis. This will involve integration of the original data to calculate hourly averages. Similarly, data for the previous weeks of the current month could be averaged on one day as a time unit, date for previous months of the current year could be averaged and stored on a monthly basis etc.
This is important for all commerce related calculations, resolution of disputes, etc.
