This is also a what-if analysis where scenarios are created for future usage of the network. Network has its maximum capacity decided once the pipe sizing and pump/compressor rating is fixed. Within this limitation, what maximum business can be extracted out of the network, which user can draw what maximum flow rate at what pressure etc. can be known a priori by creating scenarios and simulating.
Forecasting and scheduling is very important for gas network operators and PAnORaMA can be used as an effective tool for this exercise.
